In this talk Pugh exposes the novel art form – Digital Plein Air – as a vital new style where artists take technology out into the field and capture the world around them in beautiful digital paintings. The talk provides historical context for this new movement, show the state of the art today and provide a vision for how this style might evolve in the future.

The talk features the work of several artists using this technology, including David Hockney, Craig Mullins, David Newman, Shaddy Safadi, Alison Yerxa and Danny Gardner, amongst many others.
